Our story
Two brothers,
one crisis,
one idea.
2008. The financial crisis hits the automotive industry hard. Across Europe the dealerships that sold American cars close one after another. Thousands of enthusiasts — owners of Mustangs, Camaros, Wranglers, pickups — are suddenly left with nobody to source a part for them.
Into that void, two brothers see an opening. One is a car technician: he knows the GM catalogues by heart, the Ford part numbers, the difference between a Hemi and a Coyote. The other is a developer and marketer: he can build an online shop back when e-commerce was still a new word.
They pool their skills, upload the first products online, answer the phone at 10 p.m. because a customer has doubts about the engine block of his '69 Chevy. AmericanParts is born.
